I completely forgot about Ligier’s new sports racer that was announced last year until !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! had an article up the other day.(which is worth a read)
It was announced for their 50th anniversary and is a homage to the original JS2. The original car was powered by a 330hp Maserati V6 in race form. The new one is powered by a 330hp Ford V6. Both weigh the same at 980Kg.
They even have a one make racing series planned for it.
How much to buy one of these track only cars? 89,000 Euro. Pretty reasonable for a brand new race car.
Too bad they have no plans for a road car. This would make a killer competitor to the 4C/Alpine/Cayman/Lotus.

Kinda looks like something from an early Burnout game.

It can’t be too hard. Companies have converted a few P1 GTRs and the Aston Vulcan to road use.
I would assume it just needs the right lights and maybe an actual gauge cluster would be useful. Depends on what you would register it as and where you live. I would just register it as a kit car or home built to get around the emissions/airbag requirements.
The Ford V6 is very durable but the sequential trans might not be the best for road use.

Would it have to be crash tested? I'm sure it's safe enough, but the certification process isn't cheap.

Not if its sold as a kit. In the US anyway.
